People will love you if you remove uncertainty from their lives or at least don’t add more to it. For example, as an employee, it’s better to plan your days off in advance rather than taking them suddenly. Your manager will love you.
People hate uncertainty because it provokes fear in them.
Imagine someone says they will punch you in exactly 10 minutes. It will hurt.
But not knowing the exact timing is way scarier.
Because people hate uncertainty, safe jobs like teaching are extremely competitive.
In less competitive, uncertain domains, it’s best not to overthink and overplan. If your plan seems likely to succeed, it might be because it is safe and predictable. Instead, give yourself the chance to experience fortunate accidents by choosing the uncertain path.
Similarly, don’t pursue money directly. Wherever you believe money can certainly be found will likely be competitive, as it is certain.
Certainty is a trap.
